Staff Spotlight: Priscilla Martinez

October 22, 2015 by Russell Yeager

Priscilla Martinez - CopyFor this week’s staff spotlight, we’d like to introduce you to Priscilla Martinez, the Permit Coordinator for BIG RED DOG Engineering | Consulting in our San Antonio office. She joined our team in February 2014. Get to know all about her!

Where are you originally from?
Carrizo Springs, TX

Where did you go to school?
I graduated at Northwest Vista College.

Tell us something really interesting about yourself.
I’m really big at any do it yourself projects. I love finding old pieces from garage sales or items nobody wants anymore and turning them into a real gem! Just recently I refurbished an old dresser that was going to be thrown out – it so neat to see the beauty in something after it’s been given some TLC.

What was your first job?
A drive thru convenient store back in my hometown while I was in high school. My uncle owned it and he was kind enough to hire me with no job experience.

Who or what inspires you?
As I’m expecting my first daughter in December, I’ve been inspired by all the mothers I’ve had the chance to get advice from.

What’s your favorite restaurant in San Antonio?
Pam’s Patio Kitchen – the best strawberry lemonade I’ve ever had!

What’s your favorite building in San Antonio?
AT&T center – Home of the Spurs!

What’s your favorite book?
Any book that has old love letters and poems from men/women in our history. It’s amazing to see their writing and their words used to express who and what they loved.

What’s your favorite news source?
Any online sources such as kens5.com or cnn.com.

Do you have any pets?
One dog – a very active black Labrador named Harley.

Describe your ideal vacation.
Snorkeling in the Caribbean and relaxing at the beach soaking up the sun.

What would be impossible for you to give up?
Lately, I’m going to have say dessert and anything that involves something sweet. Panera bread pastries are my weakness!

BIG RED DOG Engineering and Consulting is always looking for exceptional candidates to join our team. For an opportunity to work together with the best designers and engineers (and clients) in the State of Texas, please send your cover letter and professional resume to: [email protected]
