Fast growth and strong employment hubs have long been at the top of Vantage Communities’ development checklist, and that’s exactly what it will have at the site of its next development at Brooks City Base.
Vantage, spearheaded by local real estate developer David Starr, has broken ground on the next of its 19 communities in pre or post development. Targeting fast-growing communities such as Converse, Schertz, Boerne and Shavano Park, Starr has long been successful in building early and selling when the market is hot.
And now, with the help of civil engineering firm Big Red Dog, he’s bringing the strategy to Brooks.
As the former base continues to fill in with office, retail and industrial development, residential activity has been picking up speed. The NRP Group, 210 Developers and White-Conlee have all delivered hundreds of units to the base and surrounding area over the past couple of years.
NRP is already starting work on its next apartment complex after the firm’s initial success with the 300-unit Landings at Brooks City Base. The developer is planning a 304-unit apartment complex at 7144 Dave Erwin Drive in a private-public partnership with the Brooks Development Authority.
Wrapping up the final stages of construction, 210DG’s The Aviator will add 280 residential units, one-third of which will be converted military barracks.
