The Eastside’s newest boutique hotel riffs on its warehouse roots
By Cindy Widner – Curbed Austin
A short two years after beginning construction, Arrive East Austin is set to open next month. Located at the corner of East Sixth and Chicon streets in East Cesar Chavez, the boutique hotel will be the third opened by the Los Angeles-based chain; the first is located in Palm Springs, and the second opened this month in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Other local designers and professionals who worked on the project include co-developers Alexa Management, project consultants Burton Baldridge Architects, Big Red Dog engineering, DWG landscape architects, and EyeLikeDesign creative design. The five-story, 8,500-square-foot hotel has 83 rooms.
Arrive East Austin’s total 58,600-square-foot space includes the adaptive reuse of a 100-year-old warehouse, now home to Lefty’s Brick Bar. The hotel features additional places to obtain food and drink, including Vixen’s Wedding Restaurant, Cartel Coffee Lab cafe, and Gin Bar, which is where guests check in to the (did we mention?) lobby-free hotel.
