Yeager took over Aug. 1 at the civil engineering company, which also has offices in Austin, Houston and Dallas.
The San Antonio office — recently recognized by the San Antonio Business Journal as one of the area’s fastest-growing companies — has a long list of local and nationally recognized clients, including GrayStreet Partners, 210 Development Group, CVS, In-N-Out Burger and Aqualand Development.
Yeager sat down to fill me in on some of the changes shortly after the San Antonio City Council approved one of the multifamily developments that Big Red Dog is engaged in for GrayStreet.
The new president said Weigand had always wanted to pursue a career in development, and while the timing wasn’t expected, the company will continue to focus on urban projects.
“We won’t change our goal, and the critical thing now is to take care of clients, preserve our relationships and make sure those clients get the same level of service,” Yeager said, adding that his former position has not been filled yet. “Our goal is to find someone that understands our culture, our goals. And while that will most likely be an internal hire, we don’t want to close the door on the right person.”
As president, Yeager’s job description now includes managing current and prospective clients, overseeing project design teams’ performance and driving the company’s branding strategy.
