This exciting project transformed the existing 9-acre South Lamar Plaza shopping center located at 1000 South Lamar Boulevard into a VMU project located in the heart of South Austin. The project includes ±445 apartment units (10 percent which are affordable) and ±90,000- SF of retail, restaurant, and theater space. The engineering requirements included obtaining alternative compliance from Subchapter E zoning regulations in order to accommodate the Alamo Drafthouse theatre, significant utility improvements, and design and permitting of innovative rain gardens for water quality controls.
