Project Description

The Merchant’s Ice House site is an adaptive reuse project just east of the core downtown center of San Antonio. The site and existing structure includes a cold storage building originally constructed in 1909 and was in operation until 1999. The site is among many in the area that are considered historical structures vital to the neighborhood’s history. The original structure will remain intact, being repurposed into a thriving downtown living space. The remainder of the 4 acre site will include 4 new multifamily structures and a structured parking garage. Alamo Architects is the architect of record on the project. Civil engineering services include due diligence, site planning, platting, utility design, City of San Antonio and Bexar County Incentive Coordination, and construction coordination. Construction is anticipated to begin in the first quarter of 2014.
