Hi Becca. Where are you from and where did you go to school? I’m from Overland Park, Kansas and I attended Trinity University where I earned a B.S. in Engineering Science, with minors in Physics and Mathematics.
What was the last book you read? Murder on the Orient Express.
What’s your favorite place to eat in your hometown? Spin! Pizza
Everyone at BIG RED DOG has a story about why they joined the team. What’s yours? I met Marissa and Amanda at a Society of Women Engineers event at Trinity and asked them to get lunch! After hearing about their experiences, I was intrigued by the culture and atmosphere at BIG RED DOG. I applied immediately!
What was your first job? I was a Lifeguard.
Tell us something interesting about you. I teach group fitness classes at Joyride Cycling Studio!
What drew you to the engineering field? From a young age, I loved math, science, and any type of problem solving. All of my teachers told me I should try engineering, but I was convinced I wanted to be a radiologist. I actually started at Trinity with the intention of going to med school. However, I switched to Engineering my sophomore year after seeing all of the design projects the engineering students were working on. Best decision I could have made!
Describe your ideal vacation. Anywhere that has both beaches and mountains.
What types of projects have you worked on? In the past, I have worked on a wide variety of projects ranging from mechanical equipment design in the oil and gas industry to sanitary sewer overflow prevention work. I am looking forward to gaining experience in multifamily projects in land development!
What would be impossible for you to give up? Dark Chocolate
What do you like to do in your free time? In my free time, you can find me teaching fitness classes or creating new healthy recipes. I’m always searching for new coffee shops and fun restaurants. Also, I am obsessed with the Pearl Farmers Market!
