February 29, 2016 by Bob Brown

Marisa-LuceroFor this week’s staff spotlight, please meet our newest addition to our Houston team, Marisa Keiser! She’s joining the Houston family as a Graduate Engineer. We’re thrilled to welcome her to her new home, as she came from our sister office in Austin. Get to know more about her and what inspires her below!

Where are you originally from? I was born and raised in Austin, Texas.

Where did you go to school? I went to college at The University of Texas at San Antonio.

Tell us something really interesting about yourself. I’m really interested in construction. I love to see cranes downtown, concrete being poured, roads being paved and all other neat things we can do with different materials.

What was your first job? My first job was at The Salt Lick in Driftwood. I was a drink girl and cashier.

Who or what inspires you? I love construction and structures. I see endless opportunities and a whole world of creativity in designs.

What’s your favorite restaurant in Houston? I haven’t spent enough time here, but I’m excited to try new places.

What’s your favorite book? One of my favorite books is The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand.

What’s your favorite news source? I like to read BBC News on my telephone. It’s pretty quick and to the point.

Describe your ideal vacation. I like to visit places like the Hoover Dam or Machu Picchu, and other marvels in the World. The Great Wall of China is next on the list.

What would be impossible for you to give up? My family – when I lived in Austin I would see family all the time. Living in Houston has been a bit of an adjustment.

What do you do during your spare time? In my spare time, I like to read, run, and build stuff like chairs and tables.

Welcome to the team, Marisa! We’re sure you’ll find a new favorite restaurant in no time!
