At BIG RED DOG, we like to reflect on our team members that make our organization strong, creative, and supremely capable. Our team members put forth extraordinary efforts on behalf of our clients and they deserve to be recognized. Tell us something really interesting about you. I’ve traveled to 13 countries and counting and I’m oddly obsessed with 3D printing technology.
Everyone at BIG RED DOG has a story about why they joined the team. What’s yours? I met Bailey at a UT ASCE meeting where he was representing ASCE’s YMF. I got his card after the meeting and ended up contacting BRD for an internship opportunity shortly after. A year after my six-month internship ended, I got back in contact with BRD about joining the team full time!
What drew you to the engineering field? Originally it was my love for math, but my curiosity for how and why things work kept me interested throughout college. I love the engineering mindset that gives us the ability to solve problems efficiently.
What was your first job? I worked behind the bar and drove the beverage cart at a local golf course.
Who or what inspires you? Being challenged inspires me.
Where’s your favorite place to eat in Austin? In Austin, Magnolia Café (on S. Congress) and Chuy’s are high on my list.
What do you like to do in your free time? I really enjoy cooking and camping, preferably at the same time.
What’s your favorite news source? NPR and the daily email newsletter from theSkimm.
Do you have any pets? Unfortunately not, I own pets vicariously through dog Instagram accounts.
Describe your ideal vacation. My ideal vacation is a long vacation.
What would be impossible for you to give up? I would never want to give up food or my bed.
Who is your favorite sports team? UT Longhorns and all Houston teams (Texans, Rockets, Astros…)
Best vacation ever? This past summer I explored seven countries in two months… My favorite part was the four-day safari camping trip through the Serengeti of Tanzania. It doesn’t get much better than that!
Last book I read? The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
