Marissa Wyrick began as an engineering intern in October of 2014 at the San Antonio office of BIG RED DOG and became a Graduate Engineer upon graduation for the University of Texas at San Antonio in June of 2015. While in college she was an active member of SWE (Society of Women Engineers) as well as MAES (Mexican American Engineers and Scientist) and ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers). Marissa was the captain of SWE’s competition trebuchet team in 2014 and 2015, some of the teams awards included best design two years in a row, and farthest shot in 2015.
Marissa’s professional interests include low impact development, storm water management, and pond design, as well as increasing her knowledge of AutoCAD and GIS. Since coming to BRD, Marissa has continued to tutor and mentor students in middle and high school in her free time, and is passionate about getting them ready for college and higher education. Marissa remains an active member of SWE and continues to help the UTSA chapter with events.
She is also very involved in the community of her home town of Helotes, and always makes time to go to Cornyvalle and the local parade as well as promoting local and family owned business in town.
