Under Construction: Aviator Apartments at Brooks City Base

May 14, 2015 by Russell Yeager

There has been big progress at BIG RED DOG San Antonio’s Aviator Apartment project on San Antonio’s south side.  The project is located at Brooks City Base where the Brooks Development Authority is tasked with the transformation of the 1,200 acre Brooks San Antonio Air Force Baseinto a mix-use community comprised of residential, retail, office and light industrial spaces, while still paying homage to the historical roots of the site.

Aviator-Apartments-2A unique apartment community is underway by BIG RED DOG San Antonio, Mark Odom Studio and Catamount Constructors. This project is adapting Brooks Air Force barracks for reuse as 280 residential units over 300,000 square feet. Units are constructed from former military barracks; an old military dining facility will be converted into the complex’s leasing office and community center.
