BIG RED DOG and Catamount Constructors team up once again to build a new multi-family midrise apartment complex – Vitrè. Located at 700 W. Commerce St., it is the former site of the Toudouze Market, a small, family-owned market and eventually a grocery wholesaler. The main building will stay intact and dates back to the 1920s.
The proposed mixed-use development will include 242 leasable units and over 5,000 square feet of street-levelretail space catering to the revitalized neighborhood in proximity to the University of Texas at San Antonio downtown campus and Central Business District.
The Toudouze Market building’s brick and stone façade will be protectedand restored along West Commerce Street and Pecos Street along I-35. New floorsand roof will house the leasing office and fitness center. Based on review by the Historic Design Review Commission (HDRC) the storefront will require replacementwindows of approximate character to the Toudouze Market to be installed at street level and the same format for the second floorwindows.
BIG RED DOG services for this project includes entitlement support, dry and wet utility coordination, and site development construction documents that include utility coordination, site grading and construction phase services.
