The BIG RED DOG Difference
When we started BIG RED DOG in 2009 we knew we had to start with what the client needed out of the owner-engineer relationship and work our way backwards. To us this means four things:
- We must communicate in an exceptional manner
- Our construction plans must be complete and accurate
- Our billing practices must be fair and transparent
- We must be recognized experts in each of our client-focused markets
We have been successful as a firm because we always remember these principles.
We communicate on your terms – our weekly project update letters have received an overwhelming reception from our clients. A firm that takes your money, but doesn’t communicate with you is not your partner.
Our investments in training our staff and technology have allowed our project permitting time and construction cost savings to more than pay for our design fees.
And finally, we don’t do ‘operation table billing’ –we know what the project involves when we propose on it, and we put the right price on the scope the first time.

What’s In A Name?
Our adoption of the BIG RED DOG moniker is done in tribute to a man who has inspired, driven, and held us and many others accountable over the past several years while continually being a model for performance excellence.
Our firm is not named after the company founders nor is it intended to benefit a select few, but rather the BIG RED DOG brand name represents our shared commitment to excellence and the promise of fulfillment and prosperity for our clients, our community, and each other.
