What do you love about Commercial development projects?
The pace. I really love working with projects that are fast-paced. I love working with clients that are fast-paced. Our clients are really educated; they’re doing 10 or 20 or 30 projects a year. We get an opportunity to really focus in on the details and get the project right – not just for the client, but for the end-user who’s going to be using that project.
Commercial development projects can be very different from one another. How does BIG RED DOG approach the design of these projects?
In our commercial sector, we get a chance to do projects as small as a gas station on an acre, all the way up to something like a Belterra Village that’s close to 100 acres. We’re doing massive industrial projects at the same time that we’re doing a small medical clinic. The benefit that we have on our team is that we get to design teams that focus on those different types of projects. So we have small teams of 1 or 2 people, all the way up to 10- or 15-person teams to do those big projects.
How do our clients benefit from the pace of projects and the breadth of experience that BIG RED DOG has in all of these different commercial project types across different markets?
We’re able to learn really quickly on what’s changing in the marketplace. In commercial development, a lot’s changing – the way things are purchased and the way people are using commercial space is changing really reapidly. With the type of projects that we’re turning over, we’re able to see new ideas from different markets and bring them to wherever your project is. That gives us a leg up when we start to talk to you about how to best maximize your property and your project.
What is BIG RED DOG’s unique Value Proposition?
We’re going to give you the price up front so that it’s clear and transparent. Then we’re going to make sure we communicate with you excellently through the process. At the end of it, yo’re going to have a great set of construction plans that is 100 percent complete, with a permit, that you can go build. I know that sounds simple – but a lot of engineers miss one of those three things.
